Electrical Engineering Specialist Incumbents respond to after-hours issues and emergencies requiring the ability to address a wide variety of issues and emergencies independently, utilize SCADA, GIS, IVR, OMS, customer accounting, and similar systems; works with Project Engineers to complete and accomplish tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Prepares, updates, and reviews diagrams of underground and overhead electrical lines and fiber optic lines; maintains and locates necessary information for new projects while coordinating with customers, contractors and operational teams • Responds to outages/emergencies, during regular hours and after-hours; assists in directing personnel during major outages and emergency situations. • Utilizes applicable equipment and software, which may include SCADA, GIS, IVR, OMS, and related systems • Reviews incoming projects to determine their impact on the electrical system; coordinates activities with customers; initiates work orders to begin construction; stakes jobs for construction. Coordinates work with contractors and operations personnel, as necessary. • Prepares switching procedures for review and approval; assists in short and long-range planning, coordinates with consulting engineers; assists in developing construction standards and specifications. • Prepares a variety of operational records and basic reports; Presenting information as needed to provide a thorough, yet clear, understanding of material at hand for a variety of audiences • Performs other duties as assigned of a similar nature or to provide assistance as needed More at https://clarksvillede.applicantpro.com/jobs/

Requirements	Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a College or University with an Accredited Program, which allows the ability to obtain a PE Certification in the State of TN Experience: 6 Months-1 Year Experience in an electrical distribution system Certifications & Licenses: Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) expected at or within 1 year of hire Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of TN, to be obtained within reasonable time of hire, according to CDE Management Driver’s License CPR/AED or ability to obtain upon hire Other Requirements: Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job also considered Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Knowledgeable of and skilled in electrical engineering principles, practices and techniques • Knowledgeable of and skilled in electrical construction principles, practices and techniques • Knowledgeable of SCADA systems and hardware • Knowledgeable of Occupational hazards and Safety Regulations associated with electrical transmission and distribution • Knowledgeable of and Skilled in Customer Service practices and principles • Knowledgeable of and Skilled in Public Speaking and Presentation Skills and related software • Knowledgeable of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules and regulations • Skilled in Coordinating assignments and Remaining calm and professional in emergency situations • Skilled in Basic Computer and related software applications • Skilled in Utilizing necessary field equipment • Skilled in Creating electrical and fiber mapping systems • Skilled in Installing and Maintaining SCADA hardware • Skilled in Coordinating operational activities, and Preparing and processing work orders • Skilled in Organizing and presenting data, preparing operational records and reports. • Ability to work independently and individually, and to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both written and through the spoken word. • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task • Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety • Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems • Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines. • Ability to influence others to perform their jobs effectively and to be responsible for making decisions
