The Bristol Tennessee Essential Services (BTES) is currently seeking a visionary leader due to the impending retirement of the current CEO. BTES is a municipally owned entity, providing electricity and fiber optic services, including cable, Internet, and telephone within a 280 square mile service area in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. BTES employs 70 full time employees and serves approximately 34,000 electric customers and approximately 19,000 fiber optic customers. Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field. Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or other related field, CPA, or Licensed Engineer is preferred. They must possess 12 years of progressively responsible experience, including 10 years in the electric utility industry with fiber optic experience, and 10 years of management experience.
