Technology Project Manager
Job Summary:
Seeking a Technology Project Manager with experience in renewable power and large-scale generation projects. Will coordinate and manage the deployment of electric vehicle chargers, solar generation and battery storage systems, backup generation, and other energy services in the Tennessee Valley. Develops and maintains detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans; leads project planning and execution efforts to ensure the project progresses on schedule and is delivered within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders. Develops contractor and vendor solicitation documentation and assists local utilities in evaluating project proposals and awards while communicating progress to all stakeholders. Identifies and mitigates project risks and issues, and proactively resolves conflicts and obstacles; coordinates project team activities, including contractors, vendors, and other internal and external resources, to ensure alignment with project objectives and goals. Supports the development of various energy products and services that support electric utility systems and benefit communities in the Tennessee Valley. 
               
Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and safety requirements, conducts regular site visits to monitor progress and quality of work, and ensures that all project deliverables meet or exceed quality standards and customer expectations. Develops and completes reporting documentation to ensure project grant compliance and reimbursement activities, identifies opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains, and implements best practices for project management.  Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support other initiatives and projects as needed while establishing and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders, including project sponsors, team members, customers, and vendors.
 
Maintains positive working relationships with team members throughout the organization, while exercising good judgment and discretion. Maintains confidentiality of information that is sensitive and/or protected in nature. Ability to work outside of normal work hours as needed; travel required approximately 25% of the time. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or related job experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in renewable energy, large-scale generation, and distribution scale technologies.
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have a passion for serving the electric utilities in the Tennessee Valley.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, software, and methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of electric utilities with experience in transportation electrification, renewables, battery storage, and large-scale generation.
  • Position is full-time remote; candidate must be willing to travel approximately 25% of the time.
  • Must reside in the Tennessee Valley Authority service area.
