McMinnville Electric System, TVA, And WCHS Partner To Achieve Energy Savings Through Behavioral Changes
Warren County High School team wins $100,000 grant
McMinnville Electric System (MES), TVA, and Warren County High School (WCHS) have partnered to achieve energy savings through behavioral changes.
The Warren County High School team applied for and won a $100,000 grant for a Learning Environment upgrade.
General Manager/CEO of MES, Rodney Boyd, presented the award and said, “This team has genuinely worked toward and experienced real energy savings. The data speaks for itself, showing a continued decrease in energy use over the past school year. That savings is tangible in dollars saved by the Warren County School System. We are pleased to be a part of this pilot program with WCHS and TVA and are excited to see what the next round of grants looks like for Warren County Schools.”
As a reward for their efforts, the students, staff, and faculty of WCHS were treated to Kona Ice treats on a beautiful sunny day in McMinnville.
Attending the presentation were General Manager/CEO of MES, Rodney Boyd, Community Relations Manager for TVA, Rachel Crickmar, State Representative Paul Sherrill, staff from Congressman Scott DeJarlais' office, County Executive Jimmy Haley, and Director of Schools, Dr. Grant Swallows.
